<p>New site</p> <p>My last web site was largely about technology (and is largely defunct, too…), this one’s going to be about light and photography. Photo receptive is a bit of a play on words, you can read into it what you want.</p> <p>I’m by no means a professional photographer - maybe I’m at enthusiast level, but the real reason I’m into photography is that it’s so satisfing in many different ways.</p> <p>I love a good photo and enjoy learning about and looking at the work of other photographers.</p> <p>When I see something interesting, particularly if it involves some intriguing beams of light or shadows I try to figure out what’s going on and play with the light while trying capture an image to preserve what I’m seeing.</p> <p>Sometimes it’s the meditative aspect of seeing something around town or out in nature and spending time taking photos of what I see. I’ve spent many a happy hours sitting in a canoe at the edge of a pond just looking and taking pictures of the reeds and bugs and whatever else comes along.</p> <p>Making greeting cards for friends and family has been my main means of getting into printing photos at home. My rules are simple: I can’t send the same card to the same person twice and I have to really like the card image and design - I can’t just slap something together and call it a day.</p> <p>Rule number 1 is easily solved with a spreadsheet but rule number 2 can cause me to work on something for hours, if not days. This is mostly what happens each year when late November rolls around and I want to make a new holiday card. The holiday card is born out of inspiration and anguish in varying ratios.</p> <p>Inspiration sends me down pathways of having and idea and then having to develop my own way of making it real. <p><strong>Fonts</strong> - I don’t fully understand the various CSS font elements so while the site does what I want on Safari, it’s not loading my fonts with Firefox even on my own Mac. I suspect things are even worse under Android or Windows.</p> <p><strong>Markdown vs Restructured Text</strong> - Maybe I ...</p>
